“I’ll love it, not list it”
Isn’t It Romantic focuses on Natalie’s (Rebel Wilson) life as an architect in New York City. While she grew up watching romantic comedies, she is quite cynical about love and romance. After getting a nasty head injury, she awakes to find herself trapped in a life with a PG-13 rom-com filter. Natalie must figure out how to escape this universe and get back to her normal life.
This movie is hilarious! Everyone in our theater was laughing at all the wonderful puns, witty one-liners, etc. While it was a little on the cheesy side, the writers owned that is was a cliché romantic comedy.
Another way I could tell it was a success? My husband even enjoyed it! I thought I was going to have to buy him a beer to pregame the chick flick I had picked as our date night movie. Jason mentioned he would watch it again with no alcohol necessary. Haha. We both agreed during the credits we would have to get this on Blu-ray when it comes out.
While driving home from the movie theater, I joked this was like Pitch Perfect 2.5 since we had Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy) and Adam Devine (Bumper) starring together. Who else is going to tell themselves that Fat Amy was off being an architect while rooming with Becca?
In summary, Isn’t It Romantic is a fun movie to watch with your significant other or your girls. There are plenty of quotable moments from the movie, and I’m embarrassed I couldn’t remember any of them!
